Windstar Cruises Review - Wind Spirit 7-Day Tahiti Cruise

This is a review of the Windstar Wind Spirit 7-day Tahiti cruise. This review is long overdue, as my wife and I took the cruise in July of 2016.

Windstar is a luxury small ship cruise line, and the Wind Spirit is a beautiful sailing yacht designed for 148 passengers. Although it has a total of six sails, the Wind Spirit also has several engines which propels it through the water at 15 knots.

The small size of the yacht allows it to enter ports that are inaccessible to larger ships, and is an ideal way of exploring the Polynesian Islands of Tahiti.

Sailing out of Papeete, Tahiti we visited a total of six islands including Moorea, Bora Bora, Tahaa, Raiatea, and Huahine. With beautiful islands, quaint towns, easy going friendly people, and plenty of water sports, this truly is a Polynesian paradise.

Wind Spirit Accommodations

The state rooms are small, but they have everything you need. There is a library on the ship, which allows you to borrow DVDs to play in your room, and the selection of movies is quite extensive.

Several morning we started with breakfast delivered to our room, and every meal was excellent. Most afternoons we had lunch in the Veranda restaurant, which served a varied selection of fruits, salads, pastas, meats, fish, and deserts. Amphora is their fine dining restaurant, and is only open for dinner. Every dinner we had there was exquisite, and the service on the ship is impeccable. The crew really makes you feel like you're on your own private yacht.

Activities

There aren't a lot of activities on board, but they do have a small casino with two gaming tables and a half dozen slot machines. The lounge featured a couple who played live music, and they were really good playing a variety of music.

During the day, when the ship is anchored, they open up the back of the ship called the Marina, and you can go snorkeling and kayaking. There were always plenty of people enjoying the water.

The evenings were spent on the deck enjoying drinks, music, and the beauty of the stars. It's also very easy to meet and socialize with other people.

If you're looking for a trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of big city life, you can't do much better than the Tahiti 7-day cruise on the Windstar's Wind Spirit.

The video below packs 7 days into 7 minutes, and gives you an idea of the fun we had on this trip.
